Contact Information for Jennifer Lavin
Calligrapher may be contacted by phone. Emails are typically replied to on a same-day basis. Calligrapher is available to meet with clients by appointment only, preferably at calligrapher’s home or near 281 & 1604 in San Antonio.

Payment
Estimates will be given prior to acceptance of the job. Charges are to be paid by the client upon completion of job (when the work is returned to the client). If a rush order is requested, an additional $25.00 will be added to the bill. Checks are to be made out to: Jennifer Lavin. Texas residents will be assessed 8.25% for sales tax.

Envelopes
Calligrapher follows formal rules for addressing envelopes, unless the client has a different preference. For more information on wedding etiquette, Crane’s Wedding Blue Book is recommended. This can be accessed online.

Client should provide a typed, proofed, and readable list using upper and lowercase letters with at least a 12 point font. All caps is not acceptable. Include the correct 5-digit ZIP code. Please do not use “spread-sheet” format. Mailing label format is requested.

Abbreviations are not permitted except for “Mrs.” “Mr.” “Messrs.” “Dr.” Jr.” and “Lt” when combined with “Colonel” “General” or “Commander.” Please spell out street names and states.

Indicate whether you prefer “Apartment” or “Number” spelled out. Bullets can also be used with the number following.

Where a man and woman living together have different last names, the woman’s name should appear on the line above the man’s. Married couples with different last names should appear on separate lines with “and” connecting them on the second line.

Close relatives may be addressed as “Grandmother”, “Aunt Sue and Uncle George” etc. on the inner envelope.

Children over the age of eighteen should receive separate invitations. Invited children under the age of eighteen should appear on the inner envelope, in birth order beneath their parent’s names. (“And Family” can be written if desired on the inner envelope, although this is not considered formal)

Please order at least 10-15% more envelopes than invitations (for add-ons and mistakes). If the client anticipates adding more guests to the list, the client needs to figure that in as well (10-15% is not expected to cover those instances).

Turn around time estimate for envelope jobs: 1 week per 100 unlined envelopes.

Wedding invitations should be mailed 6 weeks before the wedding; 8 weeks is recommended for out of town guests.

Pick-Up and Delivery
For orders picked up and delivered back to the stationer by the calligrapher, add $30.00 for travel time.

It is preferred that the client delivers and picks up their order at the calligrapher’s house. If necessary, arrangements can be made to meet at 281 and Stone Oak.

Add-On Addresses
Please call or email the calligrapher with add-on names or corrections while the job is being done, before it is returned to you.

After delivery of main order, it will be the responsibility of the client to pick up/deliver any additions or redoes, because of incorrect address, to calligrapher’s home (with the exception of returned envelopes with mistakes in addressing made by calligrapher, which will then be calligrapher’s responsibility).

Tax~ All Texas residents will be assessed 8.25% for sales tax.
